Zaw Win Pe is a prominent and highly regarded artist from Myanmar, known for conveying the beautiful landscapes of Myanmar through his unique and expressive use of colors and powerful brushwork. He has gained international recognition, with numerous solo and group exhibitions in Myanmar as well as countries such as France, the United States, Germany, Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Thailand, and other Asian regions. Zaw Win Pe is considered one of the most esteemed artists in Myanmar today, and he captures explosive emotions that resonate with the viewers' hearts by depicting the distinctive mountains and terrain of Myanmar.

Biography

Artist Zaw Win Pe was born in 1960 in Le Gaing village, Magway Division, and brought up in Yangon. He studied art at the State School of Fine Art from 1981 to 1984 and learned from renowned masters such as U Ba Yin Lay, U Mya Aye and U Kyaw Lay.

Zaw Win Pe has held 10 solo exhibitions and over 40 group shows in Myanmar and internationally, including in Paris, the USA, Germany, Singapore, India, and Thailand. He won the Myanmar Contemporary Art Award in 2004, hosted by River Gallery and Myanmar Times.

His works are part of collections at the Singapore National Art Museum, the U.S. Embassy in Yangon, Myanmar's National Museum, and the Staatliches Museum in Munich.
